No, and it is worth saying plainly. This carries the content across, not the styling: cell values, column order, the header row and the sheet order. Cell colours, fonts, borders, merged cells, images and charts are not reproduced. What you get is a clean, readable table.
You get the result, which is what you want in a PDF. Excel stores the last calculated value alongside each formula, and that value is what appears in the table. The formula itself is not shown.
As dates. Excel stores a date as a plain serial number, so a naive converter shows something like 45678. This reads the number format on each cell and renders dates, times and percentages properly. Dates are written year first, which reads the same way everywhere rather than guessing at a regional order.
The columns are grouped so each group fits the page, and the sheet continues on later pages with the group of columns noted in the heading. Nothing is squeezed until it cannot be read, and nothing runs off the edge.
Yes. Each sheet with data in it becomes its own section, starting on a new page with the sheet name at the top. Empty sheets are skipped.
Very large sheets are trimmed to the first 5,000 rows and 60 columns per sheet, so a runaway file cannot lock up your browser tab. If that happens you are told in the result, rather than quietly getting a short PDF.
This takes .xlsx and .xlsm, the formats Excel has used since 2007. For an older .xls file, open it in Excel or a free spreadsheet app and save it as .xlsx first. For a CSV, open it in a spreadsheet app and save as .xlsx, or use our CSV to JSON tool if data conversion is what you are after.
