What you get

More than a single number.

Most age calculators stop at the years. This one shows the exact age, the total time lived counted several ways, and the days to your next birthday.

Exact age

Your age in years, months and days, counted the way people actually count it, with each month and year taken as it falls on the calendar.

Total time lived

The same span shown in total months, weeks, days, hours and minutes, so you can answer how many days old you are at a glance.

Next birthday

A countdown to your next birthday and the day of the week it lands on, so you know how long there is to go.

The day you were born

The weekday of your birth date, worked out from the calendar. A quick way to settle whether it was a weekend.

The maths

How the age maths works.

Age is counted the way people count it, off the real calendar, so month lengths and leap years take care of themselves.

Years, months and days

Count the full years first, then the full months, then the days left over. If the day of the month has not come round yet, a month is borrowed and the days from the month before are added, so the count always lands right.

Total time lived

The same span is measured straight across the calendar to give the total days, then divided into weeks and multiplied out to hours and minutes. That is how you can read your age in days or weeks at a glance.

For businesses

Dates that check themselves.

This tool is great for a quick, one-off age. But if you need age and date-of-birth checks built into a signup flow, an HR system or a booking tool, with validation and records that hold up, you want that in your own software. That is the kind of custom software we build at Techliphant, shaped around how your business actually works.

Age calculator FAQs

Common age questions.

It is a free online tool that works out an exact age from a date of birth. You enter the birth date, and it shows the age in years, months and days as of today, along with the total days, weeks and hours lived and a countdown to the next birthday. You can also set it to any other date to find an age on that day.

Count the full years from your birth date to today, then the remaining full months, then the leftover days. This tool does it for you: enter your date of birth and it shows the age in years, months and days, borrowing days and months from the calendar so the count is correct.

The tool shows the total number of days between your date of birth and today, so you can read your age in days directly. It also gives the total in weeks, hours and minutes for the same span.

Start with the years between the two dates. If the current day of the month is earlier than your birth day, borrow a month and add the days from the previous month. If the current month is earlier than your birth month, borrow a year. What is left is the exact age in years, months and days.

Enter your date of birth and the tool shows the weekday it fell on, from Monday through Sunday. It reads the day straight off the calendar, so leap years and month lengths are already accounted for.

The tool counts the days from the date you are measuring to up to your next birthday and shows the weekday that birthday falls on. If your birthday is today, it will say so.

It uses the real calendar, so February has 29 days in a leap year and 28 otherwise, and the day counts follow from that. For a 29 February birthday in a non-leap year, the birthday is treated as falling at the end of February for the countdown.

Yes. Change the second date from today to any day you like, and the tool works out the age on that date. It is handy for checking how old someone was at an event, or how old they will be on a future day.

Yes on both. It is free, there is no sign-up, and it runs entirely in your browser. The dates you enter are never sent anywhere or saved, so they stay on your own device.

It is great for a quick, one-off age check. If you need age or date-of-birth checks built into a signup flow, an HR system or a booking tool, with validation and records that hold up, that is the kind of custom software we build at Techliphant.

Private by design: this calculator runs entirely in your browser, so the dates you enter are never uploaded or stored. It is provided free for quick checks and educational use. Where an exact age matters legally, confirm it against an official record.
